Greetings HAULYP Members and Friends,
Happy 2012! I hope this message finds you in good spirits.
As we embark upon a new year full of untold opportunities, it is with great optimism that I hope this will be a year of growth for each of you, both personally and professionally. Additionally, it is with great expectation that we enter 2012, as an organization. Just as there will be many opportunities in our personal and professional lives this year, likewise, those same opportunities exist for the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals (HAULYP). The same civic, educational, economic, and health challenges that existed within our community in 2011, will still exist in 2012, along with the many unforeseen challenges that will come about in this New Year. However, it is because of organizations such as the Houston Area Urban League and our auxiliary group, the HAULYP, that those challenges are met head on. The opportunity exists in 2012 for me, you, and us to make a difference!
I encourage each of you to commit to being a part of this great organization by sharing your time, talents, and commitment to making life better of others in 2012. Whether you can give one hour or five hours of your time each month, I ask that you make the choice to give just a little of your most precious asset, your time, to this organization, in hope that someone else's lives will be all the better for it. If you have to think twice about it, ask yourself: If not me, then who? If not now, then when?
I look forward to working with each of you in 2012, as we continue to reach out to the community, be engaged civically, developed professionally, and excited socially! Happy 2012!

primarily of young professionals in the age range of 21 – 40 that represent various industries and professions throughout Houston.
